Most NYC high school students need remediation at CUNY

A new report shows that 3/4 of New York City public school students need remediation in at least one subject upon matriculating to CUNY. The Post calls for tougher standards in state testing to ensure that unprepared students are not graduating. However, they recognize that tougher standards must be implemented by more academic rigor, perhaps by lengthening the time spent in school. At BYMC, we advocate for better quality of instruction and a more rigorous curriculum to prepare student for college.
